Overview
My appointment in the School of Plant and Environmental Sciences is 100% teaching. In both fall and spring semesters, I will teach the Floral Design course and labs. My fall roster will also include Herbaceous Landscape Plants. My student responsibilities will involve support and advisement to Horticulture related clubs and student groups.
Expertise
My experience stems from 23 years of ownership and management of a flower and vegetable farm in nearby Giles County, Virginia. In this role, I have grown and arranged flowers for the Blacksburg Farmers Market, Community Supported Agriculture subscribers, and hundreds of weddings and events. I regularly teach conference sessions in marketing, staffing, and events for small scale farms.
