Other Opportunities and Resources

The SPES Bridge Experience Program provides undergraduate students with hands-on learning opportunities that connect their academic training to real-world applications. Students apply the knowledge they learn from their major and minors to meaningful experiences, such as global and local internships, undergraduate research, and faculty-led service-learning projects, to better prepare themselves to work in industry or pursue graduate degrees.

The Global Education Office at Virginia Tech empowers the university community to engage and thrive in a globally connected world. Its vision is for every Hokie to participate in meaningful international and intercultural experiences that inspire lifelong learning. Each year, the office helps about 1,500 students study abroad, supports more than 70 faculty-led programs and 160+ global partnerships, and administers over $400,000 in scholarships. Through collaboration with faculty and campus partners, the office enhances access to global learning, promotes cross-cultural understanding, and advances Virginia Tech’s mission of global engagement, discovery, and service.

Virginia Tech is among the top 20 large universities providing Peace Corps volunteers for two years of international development service.
