Overview

I am the Extension Specialist for Greenhouse Crops and have an 85% Extension appointment along with a 15% research appointment in the School of Plant and Environmental Sciences. My research focus for the last 30 years has been on growth regulation of herbaceous perennials produced under greenhouse or nursery production. New interest in the production of hydroponic vegetables for local markets has generated new research and Extension questions that we are beginning to address with grant funding. In addition to produce production, I have worked with colleagues across VCE to support that the Community, Local, and Regional Food System (CLRFS) programming, first as co-chair of a VCE appointed steering committee and now as the co-chair for the VCE CLRFS Program Team.
